Take Your Skis to the Next Level

ski service
Ceramic Disc Finish means consistent quality of the edges from the first to the last ski/snowboard.
All skis and snowboards produced are delivered to the end customer with this type of finish.
And it is precisely the Ceramic Disc Finish by WINTERSTEIGER that guarantees high quality and repeatability of the result.

SKI SERVICE WINTERSTEIGER
WINTERSTEIGER AG is an international mechanical engineering group. Founded in 1953, it is a leading provider of innovative solutions for fully automated ski service for skis and snowboards.
Ceramic Disc Finish = consistent edge quality
The edges wear out very quickly, especially on icy or simply hard snow, but also on artificial snow, which often has very sharp crystals.
Keep an eye on your skis and come for a CHECK of their wear condition.
Our staff is at your disposal.

The base grinding operation is one of the maintenance tasks that must be periodically performed to maintain the perfect efficiency of the skis.
Normal wear from friction slowly and progressively wears down the base, which is invisible to the naked eye in the early stages. This wear is concentrated especially near the edges, in the area of greatest pressure, that is, in the area under the bindings. This type of wear causes the base to lose its flatness, which gradually becomes "bulged."
The base of a mid-high level ski always has a structure, that is, a series of small grooves with a depth of 50 microns (5 thousandths of a millimeter, or 0.5 tenths of a millimeter), arranged in such a way as to create a pattern/structure.
When the “erasure” of the structure occurs, the base definitely needs to be ground.
Our SKI SERVICE will grind your ski with the WINTERSTEIGER stone grinding machine which allows the ski to be precisely flattened and the structure to be recreated.
The edge angles determine the behavior of the ski.
A small tuning angle will result in a more precise edge grip, but poor maneuverability of the ski, which will tend to be difficult to steer in turns. On the contrary, a very large tuning angle, typical of a very worn ski, will result in great maneuverability, but the ski will tend to be less easy and precise to control.
A smaller side angle will result in a sharper edge, so it will tend to grip better on ice, but it will also be more delicate (because with a sharper angle, the edge will be thinner) and therefore will wear out more quickly.

Both skis and snowboards are made of porous materials: waxing allows the pores of the bases to be filled to prevent dirt from seeping in, so that the boards glide better on the snow, making the equipment more durable over time.

At the time of rental, you will be asked for the adjustment parameters in order to calculate the release value to ensure you ski safely.
One of the most important components for skiing safely is the correct adjustment of the ski binding, so that in the event of a fall, the boot is released and physical injuries to the skier are avoided. The ISO 11088 standard establishes the correct binding setting value, based on personal parameters such as the skier's weight, height, skill, and age.

We comply with all anti-Covid19 measures established by the Government and have adopted additional individual measures to ensure you a carefree holiday.
All rooms, storage areas, and rental equipment are sanitized and disinfected after each use with certified products.
